The owners of Kars Riding School, Joanna Crilly and Joan Johnston, have been members of two syndicates which supported two of Canada's Grand Prix riders.

The Dressage Collection Inc. was a group of dedicated dressage enthusiasts from across Canada that got together in 1994 to help Gina Smith find a horse suitable for training to Grand Prix and competing for Canada internationally. After months of looking in Europe and North America, "Faust" was found in Holland and came to Franklands Farm in Brockville as a 7 year old.

Gina trained him to the top levels and competed with him in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Faust and Gina were members of the Canadian Olympic Team at the games in Atlanta. In fact Faust had the distinction of being the heaviest athlete at the games! Faust  won almost every Grand Prix test he ever entered and in 2002 won the coveted Diamond Pin Award at the Paxton CDI.  Unfortunately, Faust was always getting into scrapes of one sort or another and proved quite a challenge to keep sound.  Gina would have him at the top of his game and he would find a new way to injure himself.  Eventually, Faust was retired at Franklands Farm.

Kars Riding School has also supported Shannon Dueck, another top Canadian rider.  With the help of many Ottawa area riders in 2003, almost $3,000.00 was given to Shannon's development fund for her trip to the World Cup Final.
