Bye Bye DollyBird Friday, September 09, 2011
DollyBird is safely ensconced with her new owners in Merrickville, Ontario. Drs Gus and Andrea Stringel have purchased DollyBird, now in foal to Feuerspiel, as an addition to their Oldenberg breeding program. We congratulate the Stringels and wish them much success in the future with Dolly.
Fancy That, Sultano (aka The Professor), Maximus and DollyBird Thursday, July 28, 2011
It has been a newsy weekend indeed. To start with, Fancy That and Joan completed the requirements for the Dressage Canada First Level medal which is to say they have achieved four scores of 63% or higher. The competition was at the Nepean Equestrian Park and Sultano showed on Sunday. He and Joanna received their highest score so far at Intermediate 2 which was also their first score toward a gold Dressage Canada medal. Anouk Desaulniers riding Lyne and Gilles Morin's Maximus at Third Level, had a great show with three scores over 60% and they earned the reserve Third Level amateur championship. DollyBird was given her 40 day check-up and confirmed in foal which is very exciting. She will make someone a fabulous broodmare and the foals will be stunning.
While we were in Florida, KRS DollyBird managed to hurt herself somewhere in
her back. The vets at Palm Beach Equine Clinic were scratching their heads
trying to figure out the problem. DB was sound on every flexion test but
could not tolerate any weight on her back. Read More
Joan and Fancy That scored another good test on their way to their First Level Dressage Canada Medal. The show was in Kingston and FT was a trooper - that is if you don't count the brief panic attack at having to cross two driveways and then a teensy mud puddle on her way to the ring. Read More
Another Dressage Canada Medal Coming to KRS Monday, July 26, 2010
KRS Fancy That and Joan have achieved their first Dressage Canada
medal. The NNEP dressage show gave them their third and fourth test scores
over 63% at Training Level. The second test was closer to 73%. Fancy
was completely unfazed by the atmosphere and more preoccupied with being in
season. She exchanged phone numbers with a very cute Welsh pony stallion
at the start of her warm-up for the second test but thankfully didn't insist on
any close encounters.
Maximus and Anouk Desaulniers were the top amateurs at Second level with two
wins and a second place. They are having a very steady and successful
season in their first Gold Level competitions. Congratulations.
